be holy

151211Therefore prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; set all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is revealed. Like obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires that you formerly had in ignorance. Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; for it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:13-16, NRSV)

God has called us to holy. As He is holy so we should be holy.

And He is asking us or calling us to be like Him.

We can allow the fullness of His grace to complete the work that He began in us and make us just like Him.

He will make us holy if we only let Him.

So be holy like He is holy.

dwell

151210Sing and rejoice, O daughter Zion! For lo, I will come and dwell in your midst, says the LORD. Many nations shall join themselves to the LORD on that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in your midst. And you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. The LORD will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem. Be silent, all people, before the LORD; for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling. (Zechariah 2:10-13, NRSV)

God will come to dwell in our midst.

Sing and rejoice and look no further for your creator and savior, for God is coming to dwell among us.

He will forever be with His people and be where we are.

We will not need to look for Him, He will be with us!

151209For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her vindication shines out like the dawn, and her salvation like a burning torch. The nations shall see your vindication, and all the kings your glory; and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will give. You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate; but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married; for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married. For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your builder marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. Go through, go through the gates, prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway, clear it of stones, lift up an ensign over the peoples. The LORD has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to daughter Zion, “See, your salvation comes; his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.” They shall be called, “The Holy People, The Redeemed of the LORD”; and you shall be called, “Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.” (Isaiah 62:1-5, 10-12, NRSV)

You will be called My Delight. Just as a young man marries a young woman, so shall the Lord marry you and rejoice over you as His bride.

God will rejoice over you and love you for all time!

You shall see His salvation in the love he lavishes over you.
