“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you. I give to you not as the world gives. Don’t be troubled or afraid. You have heard me tell you, ‘I’m going away and returning to you.’ If you loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than me. I have told you before it happens so that when it happens you will believe. (John 14:27-29, CEB)
Peace.
An illusive commodity it seems.
What is peace?
According to Merriam-Webster it is a state of tranquility or quiet, such as freedom from civil disturbance, a state of security or order, or freedom from being disturbed or bothered.
Jesus gives us peace. Peace in the midst of chaos.
Jesus gives us tranquility in the chaos of the world.
Know you are loved and held.
And that even when chaos seems to reign, Jesus gives you peace.
