35 Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But I told you that you have seen me and still don’t believe. 37 Everyone whom the Father gives to me will come to me, and I won’t send away anyone who comes to me. 38 I have come down from heaven not to do my will, but the will of him who sent me. 39 This is the will of the one who sent me, that I won’t lose anything he has given me, but I will raise it up at the last day. 40 This is my Father’s will: that all who see the Son and believe in him will have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” (John 6:35-40, CEB)
Does this really mean that if you believe in Jesus and come to him you will never be hungry or thirsty?
If so then I have to say that I have not come to Jesus, because I still get hungry and I still get thirsty.
I want to say that this means we will really have what we need, which still begs the question of why are people starving and going hungry if this is the case? We have what we need, and more sometimes and we don’t share it, so we are not doing the will of God.
We need to be fully into who God is and how God wants us to move in the world. We need to give up our privilege and love like God.
Love People. Love God.
