It was two days before the Passover and the festival of Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the scribes were looking for a way to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him; 2for they said, “Not during the festival, or there may be a riot among the people.” (Mark 14:1-2, NRSV)
Even those who want to do harm to Jesus know there is a time and a season for everything.
Things have to be done in a certain way. They knew that if they tried to take Jesus down during the festival it would not have been good for them.
What do we rush into without thinking it through?
How can we better follow God by stepping back and taking in the clues around us?
Where do we need to slow down and let God work?
