I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:1-6, NRSV)

The writer of Ephesians tells us that he is a prisoner in the Lord. Paul was held in prison and still maintained his relationships with the congregations he helped to start.

He maintained contact with those who he helped to understand the love of Christ and the life they could have in Jesus.

He called those who he knew to a higher place in the relationships they were in . Even when they disagreed, they still were united in the Spirit, in the one body of Christ.

We need to live our life worthy of being called brothers and sisters with Christ, living to a higher standard, and bearing one another in love.

Do not let the world have any hold or anything against us for not being like Christ, but maintain the unity of the Spirit…
