We know that those who are born of God do not sin, but the one who was born of God protects them, and the evil one does not touch them. We know that we are God’s children, and that the whole world lies under the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. (1 John 5:18-21, NRSV)
So if you are born of God you do not sin and the evil one will not touch you. Sometimes I wonder if I am born of God because I still sin and it seems the evil one is having a field day in my life.
Well, maybe I am a child of God because I really do know when I have done something wrong because as a child of God I will know all truth and see when I have turned my back on Him. I don’t want to and sometimes I wonder as I see myself doing something I know I shouldn’t like I’m watching my life as it happens and wondering why I am making such a horrible decision.
You see God will protect us since we are born of Him. Even when we are stupid and do not do what we know we should. God will protect us from ourselves.
So know even when it doesn’t feel like because the evil one is always around, you are God’s child and He is protecting you.
