Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus,
who, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God
as something to be exploited,
but emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
being born in human likeness.
And being found in human form,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to the point of death—
even death on a cross.
Therefore God also highly exalted him
and gave him the name
that is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

As I read this passage again for the I don’t know how many times, I was struck by the fact that I knew but may not have sunk in.
Jesus was God. He could have not been put on the cross. He could have stopped all of it from happening. He could have made it all go away. He had the power to stop it.
But He didn’t.
You see, it is not about things going our way.
It is not about us getting to have a great life and everything we have ever wanted.
It is not about us escaping pain or suffering.
It is about us thinking of the other before ourselves.
You see that is what Jesus did. he thought of you, rather than Himself and went to the cross for you!
So have the same mind as Jesus and think of the other first.
