Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing. For “Those who desire life and desire to see good days, let them keep their tongues from evil and their lips from speaking deceit; let them turn away from evil and do good; let them seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:8-12, NRSV)
Do not repay evil with evil but repay it with a blessing!
Bless those who persecute you! Be a blessing to the world that will hate you for what you have that is different from them.
They will hate you for the love you have for them, but do not hate them in return. Love the world that God created just as He loves it. He loves it so that He sent His only son to come and show us how to live and we killed Him.
I saw a quote recently from Abraham Lincoln, “Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them?” By blessing those that make evil come our way, we are showing creation love, and showing the unity we have with the spirit. We are sharing the one love that brought us together, and brought us to the relationship with God.
Show the one love, the one spirit, the one hope to all!
