Back to School!

Back to School!!!!
It is time for the parents to rejoice and the kids to cry…
Isn’t that how we often picture back to school?
Why is that?
Actually that is the issue with our faith too if we step back and take a look at it.
Now I have your attention. We are getting ready for school. And school as we know it is something we will eventually be done with. It is something to go through and possibly endure until you can graduate. And maybe this is how we look at our faith as well.
But is faith something we graduate from? Something that we can know everything about?
Catechism is a method many of us are familiar with, but may not know it was for adults and the whole family. Catechism comes from the Greek word κατηχέω which means to teach orally. So then every time we meet together and discuss the scripture we are doing catechism.
And you see that is the point, that we are never actually done learning about our faith. We can not graduate summa cum laude, magna cum laude, or even cum laude from Jesus Christ’s School of Discipleship, because we never graduate and we never stop learning!
We should all be looking forward to the ways in which we can connect, and learn more about ourselves, our faith and the body of Christ.
So don’t work towards graduating from your faith, but work towards being the best person Christ has called you to be. Looking forward to every type of learning you can do!
