As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share, thus storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of the life that really is life. (1 Timothy 6:17-19, NRSV)
Let’s make this clear, the Bible never says it is a sin or wrong to be rich. You can have resources and lots of money according to the Bible. The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil, not money. And our verse here says that if you are rich, don’t be haughty. Do not think more of yourself or look down on others because you have money.
You need to live a life defined by generosity and be rich in giving, and doing good works!
Generously give what you have received, so that everyone will live a blessed life.
We can have resources, it is all in how we use them. You see God has blessed all of us to be a blessing to others, so live a life defined by generosity and place your hope in God who blessed you, and not in the money that will not go with you into all of eternity.
