and it was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord), and when the song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever,” the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, (2 Chronicles 5:13, ESV)
We are called to worship! We are called to raise our voices in unison and sing praises to our God and King!
Have you ever been in worship and not felt like singing?
Have you ever been in worship and seen someone who wasn’t singing? Was it a member of a praise team or choir? Were they “on stage” leading worship and not singing praise?
Isn’t that what this verse calls us all to? It says we need to lift our voices in unison and sing praises to the King! We need to lift our voice with the voices around us and sing to God. We are leaders of worship for those around us and if we are not singing then why should they? And if we are not singing are we really worshiping?
So next time you are in worship sing in unison with the voices raising praise to God and feel the roof being lifted and the presence of the Holy One filling the place.
